The following is a paid review for Web Hosting Choice:

Web Hosting Choice (which we will now refer to as WHC) is a site that provides reviews of some of the best web hosting companies today. As of this post, WHC features 10 hosting companies — Just Host, Host Monster, Fat Cow, Inmotion Hosting, Blue Host, Start Logic, Host Gator, 1 and 1, Go Daddy, and Yahoo.

On the front page, WHC provides a quick look on the 10 companies with regards to price, setup fee, domain fee, disk space, data transfer, and if they have a money back guarantee. They rank it according to a scoring system (100% is the highest) but they did not disclose the criteria for giving those scores. If you want more information on the said hosts, you can click on their In-Depth Comparison Chart that perhaps covers all the questions that are usually asked by a potential hosting customer.

Some of WHC’s features include a Web Host Directory page where you can browse the hosting companies by Specific Category (i.e. adult hosting, budget, Windows, etc.) or browse by Specific Features such as the host must have 24 hour support, Python, FrontPage, etc. Another cool feature is their Advanced Search, for those that need to grill down to specifics, they have a page that allows you to pick every single feature you want from a web hosting provider. You can specify the plan details, features, and payment options that you need and click on the “Search for Hosts” button and it will display the hosts that fit your needs. For other hosting companies that are not yet included on WHC’s list, they have a “Submit Host” link where you can submit your business’ profile and perhaps be included in their next update.

Another one of our favorites is their Learning Center area, which can be useful to someone who’s just starting out with hosting and even to seasoned webmasters. It has a FAQ link for answers the frequently asked questions; quick start; how to avoid being scammed by some pretending to be legitimate hosting companies; resources, which has links to other highly recommended sites if you need more information on SEO (search engine optimization), making money online, etc.; and many more.

To sum it all up, our honest opinion of WHC is that the concept is really good and it really has the potential to become one of the useful web sites around except that as of this post, as we said, there are only 10 hosting companies that are featured. It would be nice if they updated their list of hosts regularly and include some of the other excellent companies and be just a one-stop shop for those who want a new host. It would also be nice if they allowed their visitors to rate the accuracy of their reviews and ratings and also to leave their comments.
