Philippine Idol Disappointment
A lot of people are disappointed of the results of the top 4 male finalists. They think that Ramirr and Gian should be included. We think that Philippine Idol still lacks viewership. Only a few people have voted. It would have been a different story if Philippine Idol were shown on ABS-CBN or GMA then a lot of people would have been aware and would have voted. We saw the performance night on TV but we didn’t vote for anyone. I bet that’s true also for other viewers who are just curious but not that yet interested.
What adds to the disappointment are the judges. Mostly all praises for the contestants. Only a few constructive criticisms. Maybe we’re trying to compare American Idol which is run by big network like Fox (which is comparable to GMA or ABS) whereas Philippine Idol is run by ABC which is only the number 3 network here in the Philippines. There’s just no comparison. It’s not even close.

i agree with that… how i wish that the txt vote is only 20% of the total score of the performer and the 80% is still on the judges.

sabi nga ni mr c. you dont have the right to be disappointed kasi nga you didnt even dare to vote. kung gusto mo hindi ma disappoint THEN VOTE. thats the only way para makasama or manalo yung bet mo. REMEMBER. THIS IS AN IDOL FRANCHISE so kung ano yung RULES sa AMERICAN IDOL yan din ang rules sa PHILIPPINE IDOL. live with it. kung frank masyado ang mga judges. STANDARD na tlga yan. kasi nga IDOL series e.
VOTE FOR YNAH!!! text YNAH and send to 2339 after the show(Sept 9) till 8:30pm the next day.

idol fanatic, if philippine idol followed the Idol franchise standards to the letter, maganda sana yung labas ng show.. di sana full of technical glitches, DEAD AIR, substandard sets, et cetera… buti nlng talented talaga ang mga pilipino at nabawi ung mga shortcomings ng show.
and i think ang ibig sabihin ng blogger about the judges is that the judges arent FRANK ENOUGH. that THEY SUGARCOAT the contestants’ performances instead.

Philippine idol is not merely on the commercialization and dramatization on discovering talents. You get the real thing. No frills…. No drama…just plain and naked singing talent..something new..something fresh….kaya nga ibinasura na ung isang dating winner galing sa ABS… singing search eh…un bang gumagaya kay Michael Bolton…whats his name again??? nakaka-umay na kasi xa eh…

Finally somebody shares the same sentiments as I do. I would consider it a controversy because some who got in (Miguel and Jan), do not deserve to take a spot in the final four. The only reason they got in is because of their popularity such as that from Miguel being from La Salle who got most of the campus voters’ nod while Jan being from Uniliver. I feel very sorry for those who performed exceptional (Gian, Ramirr, Robert) but did not make it. Even the three judges favored them, but the voters decided to go with the underdogs disregarding the judges advices as if they never existed in the first place.

I really prefer Philippine Idol over other talent searches sa ibang network. Simple lang kasi ang format ng Philippine idol (american idol). It is really text votes that count. NO POLITICS. Sa ABS di ba sinasabi madami daw politics (like noong nanalo si Eric Santos — where is he now?). Eh dito, may credibility si Mr C. He is not a Simon Cowell , but my God, iyong mga matitinong nagaudition, they know the calibre of the judges (si Francis, aminin man o hindi, set the trent for Pinoy pop).
Only thing is, siempre sa pilipinas, malakas ang hatak ng mga kamag-anak. the larger the clan or the click group , the bigger the chance the manalo (text votes di ba)? so iyon ang downfall. kung sakaling isabak ang manalo (and suppose nanalo lang sia due to kamag-anaks), palpak sigurado. i just hope ABC 5 would be able to PROMOTE well ang philippine idol. we have so many good singers.

i agree that Phil Idol lacks publicity. If it was shown in either of the 2 biggest networks, it would have been millions of voters.me mga flying voters pa yun!
im not happy with the results.sa male category, ok sa akin si draey and reymond.sa female,si pow lang ang ok dun e.si armari,ok lang siguro.pero si jelli saka c apple?!duh!i hate them when they sing.pa-cute!this is a singing contest not some cheap beauty pageant. cant they show more of their talents in singing.nakakatawa si jelli nung kumakanta.hindi cia ok mag-interpret ng song.hehe even in portuguese.hahaha!

tama yung comment na the show lacks viewership. ito ang problema dito. i think wala masyadong bumoto except yung mga kamag-anak at kaibigan ng contestants kaya ang laban eh paramihan ng mga kakilala. sana abs or gma na nga lang naghandle ng show para at least maraming voters. i’m sure makukuha yung mga magagaling pag maraming voters pero konti lang talaga eh. hmp!
